But you should see a PCI Device show up under Other Devices, then right click and select update driver software and search automatically for updated driver software. One of the previous replies suggested trying an earlier Windows version in compatibility mode. I tried the JMicron driver from Windows 8.1, (under storage).
I did not use compatibility mode because I did not know exactly which device uses the driver. I just downloaded and let it install. I then restarted the laptop (HP 6570b).
The card reader now works fine.
